On March 14, 2013, Friends of Fairsted presents a lecture by Nate Trevethan, Senior Associate at Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates and senior design team member for Brooklyn Bridge Park - Brooklyn’s Resilient Edge:  The Transformation of Industrial Waterfront into Brooklyn Bridge Park.

The award-winning design by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates gives voice to physical history, geography, ndustry, urbanity and evolving recreational needs as it transforms a challenging waterfront into a sustainable public park of monumental vistas and diverse landscape experiences.

 
2013 Japanese Garden Intensive Seminar‏

Many of our members have benefited greatly from foreign travel and seminars. One such seminar is the Intensive The Japanese Garden in Kyoto Japan. This two week program is divided between site visits and lectures, including sties not usually open to the public. For further information download the brochure here:

The NELDHA History Networking Group is hosting its Annual ‘Slide Slam’  on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 3:00to  5:00 p.m. in the Fishbowl, The Boston Architectural College, 320 Newbury Street, Boston. You are invited to share garden and landscape photos from a recent trip or completed  project with fellow members and guests.  Choose 8-10 slides or PowerPoint visuals of a garden or landscape and save to a portable memory stick.  AV equipment will be provided. NELDHA's Annual Tea

Our Annual Tea was held on October 11, 2012, at Elm Bank in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Our Members and guests had time to reconnect and meet new friends while enjoying enjoyed splendid food from Gaveston Catering. Maureen Bovet presented a talk and slide show "The Parks of Paris and How They Saved My Life--A Personal Perspective," that revealed many little known garden spaces and inspired many of us to explore Paris as our next vacation destination.
